Christie Lee Wirsen
Mrs. Wirsen is the majority owner of GSE and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. Mrs. Wirsen is in charge of the overall business that GSE engages in, and manages contract oversight, corporate accounting, and corporate policy. Her business and company operational experience guides GSE’s corporate decisions and direction.
Gregory C. Wirsen. MSc
Mr. Wirsen brings 15 years of hazardous waste, health and safety, due diligence, and solid waste experience to GSE. Mr. Wirsen has managed or participated in environmental projects throughout the United States, as well as England and Belgium. Mr. Wirsen also serves as the New England Director of the Construction Materials Recycling Association.
Gary James, PE
Mr. James is a registered professional engineer in all New England States (ME, NH, VT, MA, RI, and CT). With over 30 years of experience in the civil/environmental engineering and solid waste industries, and as a former Army Corp engineer, Mr. James brings a solid engineering capability to GSE.
Terry F. Bauer, PG
Mr. Bauer is a Professional Geologist who brings over 25 years of experience with hazardous waste, health and safety, due diligence, solid waste, and civil/environmental engineering projects to GSE. He has managed or participated in local, state and federal regulated environmental projects across the United States and has participated in or managed environmental projects in South America, England, Australia, and Poland.
John S. Blaisdell VP
Mr. Blaisdell brings over 14 years of solid waste, hazardous waste, health and safety, and due diligence experience to GSE. He has served as a Project Manager for GSE since 2001, and is the lead Business Developer for the company. Mr. Blaisdell is a former Recycling Market Development Specialist and was the manager of construction and demolition debris recycling facility development for the State of North Carolina. Mr. Blaisdell has assisted in the establishment or expansion of over 50 recycling/solid waste entities.
James A. Luker, Jr., LSP
Mr. Luker is a Licensed Site Professional with a Master’s degree in geology and brings over 27 years of consulting experience involving investigations, site characterization and remedial actions on a variety of environmental engineering projects. Mr. Luker has extensive experience in working with municipal officials, regulatory personnel and citizens groups. In addition, Mr. Luker has conducted detailed subsurface investigations, remedial investigations, and feasibility studies on sites where groundwater contamination threatens private and or/public water supply systems. Also, he has experience with government sector and federal agency (US Coast Guard and US EPA) projects.
George W. Petersen, Jr., PE
Mr. Petersen is a professional engineer with a Master’s degree in civil/environmental engineering and over 27 years of engineering and construction experience. He has worked on a wide variety of civil engineering projects, general construction, environmental investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial action projects. Mr. Petersen served as the technical lead and supervisor of projects in the New England states and the states of Florida, New York and Nevada. Additionally, Mr. Petersen has experience with storm water regulations, facility plan development and compliance, and federal agency (Air National Guard, US Army Corps, Department of Energy) projects.
Garrett Keegan, PE
Mr. Keegan is a Professional Engineer with 34 years experience conducting, supervising, and managing environmental and civil engineering projects. Mr. Keegan’s work experience includes the design and construction of multiple industrial and domestic wastewater treatment systems. In addition, Mr. Keegan served as the lead engineer and project manager for the design and construction of secure landfills, and the design of bulk petroleum and hazardous materials storage facilities. Mr. Keegan was the lead technical engineer conducting multiple groundwater investigations, ground water modeling, and water quality evaluations/water treatment designs for a public water supply.
Rick Smith
Mr. Smith is currently the Senior Surveyor/Project Manager at Green Seal Environmental and is in charge of overseeing the Survey Department. Mr. Smith’s responsibilities include providing construction oversight and quality control on a multitude of federal and private sector projects. Mr. Smith brings over 24 years of experience and is highly competent in all phases of Surveying including Alta Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Topographical Surveys, Existing Conditions, Septic Systems, Construction Layout, and As Builts.
Peter R. Flood
Mr. Flood is a project manager with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, and brings over 8 years of experience with all facets of Environmental Site Assessments including inspections, report preparation, and field sampling and measurement. Mr. Flood also performs solid waste facility compliance inspections, health and safety training and botany associated with Wetland Protection Act filings. Mr. Flood serves as GSE’s lead wetland biologist and was formally an ornithologist for Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.
Eric R. Wirtanen
Mr. Wirtanen is an environmental scientist with a strong background in geosciences and GIS. Mr. Wirtanen’s experience includes Wetland Protection Act permit applications, all facets of environmental site assessments, field sampling, measurements, and documentation as required of an Environmental Scientist. Mr. Wirtanen also performs solid waste facility compliance inspections, sampling, and asbestos inspections.
Liz Tustin
Ms. Tustin possesses a strong background in environmental science and the geosciences. Ms. Tustin’s experience also includes environmental site assessments, field sampling, measurements and documentation as required of an Environmental Scientist and report writing. Also, Ms. Tustin has provided QA/QC for GSE’s large scale Army Corps ecosystem restoration projects.
